FIRST & FOREMOST DEAN KAMEN

On June 20th, at the beautiful Portal Marin, world-renowned inventor Dean Kamen joined the Near Future community to share the history and necessity for FIRST Global's annual challenge, taking place this year on September 26-29, 2024 in Athens, Greece (home of the first Olympics). It was such a treat to hear over-achieving Dean share what inspired and motivated him to create DEKA, ARMI, FIRST & FIRST Global.

Every year, FIRST Global unites students from all around the world (195+ countries!) to solve for some of the worlds most significant challenges. This year's theme is "Feeding the Future", focused on food, water, and energy resilience.
